9) Say what you think the author is trying to do or say. What is the author's main message or purpose? Say how well you think the author succeeds in what he or she is attempting and give reasons for your answer.

I think the author of the book tried do tell us, that the actions that we do unconscious can have a much bigger effect to somebody else than you think. Before you do something that you don't belive that it could hurt somebody you have to think through, and to be aware of the consequences that your action could bring with. In the story everybody of family Birling did or said somethink to a young woman without thinking it through. At first they thought she did not die and all of them are pleased of it. But it the end they get the sad new that she killed herself nevertheless. Therefore they regret what they had done to this young woman. She did suicide because of the things they did her. In my opinion the author did it very well, because it was obviously and emotional and if you can feel with somebody, you can learn much better.

7) In your own words what has happened in the book? At any point in the story, retall the major detail of the story's plot so far.   -   RECOUNT

The Familiy Birling is celebrating the engagement of Sheila Birling with his future husbend Gerald Croft by eating dinner together. Everybody is happy about it, expect Eric, Sheilas brother. Henhas for some reason a drinking problem. After Gerald gave  Scheila a engagement ring, she went with her mother in an other room. Eric went in an other room too. Unexpectedly a so-called inspector whos name is Goole, comes to Arthur (Sheilas Father) and Gerald. He asks some questions about a woman who did suicide. With time every member of the family comes in to the room. The inspector asks all of them some questions. Et the end they recognise that they are responsblemfor her death. The inspector goes out. After thinking about what they did, they recognise that the ''inspector'' Goole wasn't a real inspector. And no woman did suicide. After getting these news they are all calmed down. At the moment when they get again happy they get a new news, that a woman killed herself. So for some unkown reason the so-called inspector has already known whats going to happen. The end is a kind of weird and i didn't understand it all, to be honest.

6) At any point in the story predict how some character is going to change/develop (character development) as the story progresses. How will they change?   -  PREDICTION

I take Eric Birling to predict his future, the brother of Sheila and the son of Arthur and Sybil Birling. For some unknown (at least for me) reasons he has a drinking-problem with alcohol. After loosing his loved and pregnant  woman (I suppose that the dead woman was the woman he spoke about), his problem with drinking get worse. He retires, because he is extremly bad. Especially because she was pregnant by him. So he lost not just his woman, he also lost his unborn child. Maybe he gets depressive. Maybe after some time he is over about what happened and he finds another woman and falls in love with her. And finally he founds his own Family with his new love. Nevertheless he will never Forget who he have lost.

5) Write about the relationship between two characters and how it is changing or developing. What are the characteristics of the relationship? - CHARACTERIZATION

I write about the Realtionsship of Gerald Croft and Sheila Birling. At the begining of the Story they are celerating the Engagement of Gerald and Sheila. They semm to be very happy together. Gerald giv her a ring as a gift. She likes it very much and is happy. When the so-calles inspector Goole asked all of them some questions he admitted that he has also has a relationship with an other woman. That means he had cheated on Sheila. She is deeply disappointed. Gerald also told that he loved that Woman, which means that he don't love Sheila. I think their relationsship was just to get the two comanies more together (at least from Geralds site). Wether they stay together or not, i don't know, but i think rather not.

4) Write down 5 questions you would like to ask the author. Say why you would like to ask these questions. - EMPATHY

1. What was the right Name of the young Lady, which did suicide at the and of the Story?

I did not understand whats her right name because she has several names.

2. Why does the son of Arthur and Sybil Birling have a problem whith drinking (alcohol)? What an influence on the Story of the book An Inspector Calls does his drinking problem have?

I think the author just wanted to make something more interesting in the Story or maybe i just did not understand the Story.

3. Whats the occasion (not the reasons) that the Young Lady did suicide? Did realy the Family Birling and Gerald Croft cause her suicide?

4. Was the finally dead woman the same woman as the inspector and the Family spoke about?

5. Did the Family and Gerald Croft speak about the same Person?

During the Story i always thought they speak about the same woman, but et the end they said it ways allways a other woman and then they think it was though the same woman. I did not realy understand this.

3) Say in what ways you wish a character would Change/develope or what you would like to happen in the life of some character.   -   EMPATHY

I would like that Sheilas mother (and Arthurs woman) Sybil Birling would change to a better person. She didn't help the young pregnant woman which asked her for help. For some reasen she did't belive the young lady. In my opinion  Sybil Birling is to spoiled. She has a rich man. She has a big house with peronal worker in it. And so on. She don't know that somebody who stucks in trouble depends on help from other peopel. I personally never wish the bad for peopel but if she had experienced something similar as the young lady did. I hope that she gets at least a Little bit more human and caring. She should recognize that even if she is (still) rich, those things could happen to her at any time.

2) Write about something happaning in the book that you can relate to? How did you react? Try to put yourself in the characters shoes and say why you think they feel the way they do.
 - EMPATHY

I want to write about the scene, when Sheilas Father Arthur Birling and his future
son-in-law Gerald Croft are chating while they're smoking.  And when the so-called inspector whichs Name is Goole, come in and thinks he is the boss. He commanded everybody there. I couldn't stay that calm as for example Arthur did. Nevertheless I would react similary as Sheilas Father. If I think about that way, maybe i would have throw him out of my house. He is not in his house, it is still the house of the family Birling. It doesen't matter who comes in your house. If you are a guest in somebodys hoese you have to be respectful. But of course, if they killed somebody (what they didn't) a true inspector has not to be such respectful as an normal guest. And I really don't like
